Helping the Health Ministry in China to Improve Access to HIV Medicines

MSD China has been a partner with the Chinese government on HIV/AIDS related issues since 1999 and has recently offered a substantial discount on the price of our HIV/AIDS products. This is in an effort to assist the country in reaching its goal of reducing the number of HIV cases to 1.5 million by 2010. Some of the programs we supported in China include but are not limited to medical training, clinical treatment program, disease awareness program etc.

So in what way does our partnership with the Chinese government on curbing the growth of HIV help to achieve Merck's mission?

Getting medicines to people in need by accelerating and expanding access to life-saving medications in China.
