Q. How can I learn about what training is provided to
new hires?
We ensure that all employees understand the values, the vision,
the ethical standards and culture of MSD. This forms the foundation
of our new hire orientation process. All new employees will
be provided with a general overview of the company, its structure
and operations usually through a one or two-day orientation
program provided by the local subsidiaries where one is appointed.
In addition, there will be specific functional orientation
sessions arranged by the line management of the new hire's
function to familiarise one with the iob scope and working
environment. This will last from a few days to several months
in some cases. Usually the functional orientation will be
conducted through on-the-job training, where individuals need
to gain some hands-on exposure to the work.
There is also a vast array of information which new hires
can access and find out from the intranet.
