Staff training and development needs are identified and planned
based on the competency profile of their role. MSD Malaysia
provides a six-day Staff Induction program for new recruits.
Coaching by immediate manager of the new recruit takes place
concurrently to facilitate the assimilation process. For sales
staff, product training and a basic selling skills program
are provided within the first 3-6 months. In addition to the
different types of classroom training provided to employees,
they are also assigned to work on various cross-functional
project teams to widen their exposure out of their own functions.
